UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE: The StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have on Wednesday announced the signing of goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa on a two-year deal.
Mutakubwa, 27, whose contract had expired with Kyetume Fc, joins the Red Eagles as a free agent and will bolster Coach Wasswa Bbossa’s goalkeeping plans with his good ball distribution ability, quick reflexes, and an impressive save percentage.

He replaces Mathias Muwanga who declined to sign a contract extension with the UPL champions for a highly anticipated transfer to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“This is a great step towards achieving my goals as a footballer. Express FC is surely the right place to be because of the championship mentality here,” Mutakubwa told the club website.
He added, “I know what is expected of me and I’ll do my very best to perform at the highest level. I want to thank the head coach (Wasswa Bbosa) for having the trust in me.”

Mutakubwa has previously played Tooro United and most recently for Kyetume FC where he managed to pick up 10 clean sheets in the just concluded StarTimes Uganda Premier League 2020/21 season.
