NJERU, UGANDA: Manjiya County MP and the Opposition Chief Whip in parliament, Hon John Baptist Nambeshe was on Saturday morning involved in a nasty accident along Jinja Iganga highway, the Daily Express understands.

The horrible accident occurred at Mbiiko, near the Nile Bridge, Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District.

In a telephone interview with the Daily Express, Nambeshe, who is also the Deputy President of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) in the Eastern region described the accident as a ‘horrible’ one with minor injuries sustained although no deaths were recorded.

‘Some of the doors of my car cannot even open. Word and suspicion has it that the accident was a setup. It was not fatal but the one who knocked me and horribly hit my car got seriously injured,’ Nambeshe said on phone.

‘‘I was going to my constituency (Manjiya County, Bududa District) as it is my routine to go there especially on weekends to perform my duties,’’ he added.
