IGP Ochola misses Lokech’s Requiem Service due to illness, police says

The Inspector-General of Police – IGP Martins Okoth Ochola has today missed the requiem service held for the Late Maj Gen Paul Lokech due to a reported illness.

IGP Ochola who is said to have suffered a hypertension after receiving the news of his deputy’s death was represented by the Joint Chief of Staff in Police, Brig. General Jack Bakasumba.

The requiem mass held at late Deputy IGP’s home in Kitikifumba, Kira Municipality was attended by mostly top security officials from the UPDF and Police, central government leaders, and members of parliament.

The body was ushered in by Army Officers at the rank of Major Generals including Maj Paul Kawaga, Francis Takirwa, Kayanja Muhanga, Charles Okidi, and Bob Ogiki.

Speaking about IGP Ochola’s absence at the service, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga revealed to mourners that his boss didn’t turn up due to a health complication after suffering hypertension upon receiving the news of Lokech’s death on Saturday.

“The IGP is not here but he is represented because his pressure levels were not ok and medics advised him to take a rest but he earlier visited and consoled the family,” said Enanga.
