KAMPALA, UGANDA: Government of Uganda is set to send 10 million shillings to each family of the victims killed by the resurgence of machete-wielding assailants in the Masaka sub-region.

The President through the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi said families of the victims will be consoled with ten million shillings for the deaths suffered as security agencies continue to camp in the area in an attempt to solve the ‘puzzle’ of the deadly terror gang.

13 of the 28 lost lives were killed last week and according to reports from the area, no death was registered yesterday night as security has been beefed up in the area.

Different government officials at the start of this week camped in Masaka and one of them was the Internal Affairs State Minister, Gen David Muhoozi. He said that 69 suspects have so far been arrested in connection to the murders.

However, the panga welding gang continues to drop paper notices warning residents of more terror raids. Some residents are said to be migrating to safer places.
