PICTORIAL: How it all went down at La Cabana’s ‘Rio Meats Kampala’ Barbecue Fest

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Families, couples, and city dwellers flocked La Cabana Restaurant on Sunday, September 5th in celebration of the “Rio Meats Kampala” Barbecue festive that brings the Brazilian cuisine experience closers to revelers every year.

The exhilarating Brazilian fest that kicked off at 12 pm today was hosted at the Speke Apartments Wampewo, in Kampala where La Cabana Restaurant is located.

The classic Rio Meats Kampala barbecue fest priced at only UGX 120,000 featured a welcome cocktail of Caipirinha, an open salad bar, soup with cheesy bedrolls, a bottle of a soft drink of your choice, and sides & dessert.

Additionally, one would walkway with Unlimited 7 cuts of meat which among others included; a Bacon of Wrapped Chicken, Beef Borrowers, Top Sirloin Steak, Leg of Lamb, BBQ Chicken Drumsticks, Rock Salted Pork Cubes and or Lemon & Herb Chicken Wings, all prepared by expert chefs with a decent of Brazilian Cuisine and Spices & Flavors.

At about 2 pm on the day, different races of people had already thronged the restaurant, and were welcomed by waiters, then ushered into a dining area arranged in full observance of the Covid-19 SOPs to ensure the coronavirus doesn’t get the liberty to spread.

One would then ask for a menu, embrace what’s included, and then order for their choice of Brazilian churrasco meat, with vegans covered up with a Chicken BBQ on the menu.

As you would wait for your order to get processed, a bottle of soft drink or welcome cocktail and salads would refresh you off as a warmup for the main dish. A Caipirinha welcome cocktail was on the menu to serve as a Kickstarter for the guests.

Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail, made with cachaça, sugar, and lime. The drink is prepared by mixing the fruit and the sugar together, then adding the liquor. This can be made in a single large glass to be shared among people, or in a larger jar, from which it is served in individual glasses

In 45-60 minutes, your churrasco grill would be ready for serving and you’d live it up with the sumptuous taste of the flavored beef or chicken, or a mixture of both depending on what you ordered.
