OP-ED

OP-ED: From Shoprite to Game Stores to Africell in a Moment of Time!!!

We can’t deny it! “Over the past several months, Africell group has conducted a detailed assessment of the future of Africell UG….”

“Africell UG will stop services on 7th October 2021”, (an official letter from Africell Uganda.)

While the Ugandan government has continually locked down the country in the name of curbing the spread of coronavirus, other countries refused to enforce such long excruciating lockdowns upon its citizens. The enemy’s trick is to show you one little devil and once you focus on that little devil, you attract other related devils. That’s Uganda for you. Our wise economists have less to say in the catastrophe and even if they tried to advise otherwise, who cares anyway? “we have the scientists to make the decisions”

Our neighboorhoods like Tanzania and Kenya that didn’t focus on the pandemic as we did, are doing much better.
The lockdown we copied and pasted from the first world economies wasn’t really meant to squarely deal with the covid-19 situation but to corrode the economies riding them down into darkness.

While we thought we were dealing with the covid-19 pandemic, we didn’t realize that we had created perforations and exit doors in the economy. We have local businesses that permanently petered out and we ignored them amidst the importunate cries from the affected.

Now big companies exiting because they’ve ‘caught a flu’ in Uganda.
There’s no thriving business entity that wouldn’t want to stay in the economy that feeds it. Definitely, there must be something fallacious in our economy that we all can see.
Well! Who knows which other is next?

So, What happens to the taxes they’ve been paying let’s say per anum? And with the constant budget rise every single year, shall we predict that the citizens will have to cover up the taxes in one way or another?
And what will happen to the standards of living of those citizens??

Are we still going to pretend like we haven’t seen anything in our economy yet, and thus looking forward to the third and fourth wave of the curable virus?

The first and major corrosion in the country was/is the faith of believers, having unquestionably locked down places of worship. The pain of religious suffocation is greater than the pain of economic down-spiring, at least for a believer who means business with his God.

If the faith has been worn out, who Shall we call unto for help given the verse;
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

First Forward, we put to rememberance a time when MTN Ug went through a dark period of accusations, fallouts and deportations in 2019 yet we know that this was Prophesied by Prophet Elvis Mbonye on 3rd January 2017. Watch: https://youtu.be/-9c2dOaRIes

We’re these signs to something?

This is the relevance of honoring Prophet Elvis Mbonye paying heed to his utterances and we surely can do something about it.
Important to note: One of the Prophecies on 7th January 2020, Prophet Elvis Mbonye said to Uganda,
“Uganda! heed the word of the Lord, you get into a time where you will need my hand, where you will need my word, where you will need my spirit. Who else can you rely on but me says the spirit of the living God. I have sent you my Prophet and you have rejected him. So a day is coming when nations shall reject you.

And you shall look around for help and the nations shall begin drawing back and you shall see the signs of it. And you shall see the donors untie this, untie this, and you shall see that this has gone bankrupt it’s closing. The donors shall turn, the world shall turn because you do not heed the voice of my word…”

Further more, In May 25th 2020, Prophet Elvis Mbonye issued a stern warning to the leadership of Uganda and we know that it’s dangerous to ignore his words. Quoting from one of the statements;
“Dear politician, you can ignore God but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring God.” (https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3136034463084854&id=551327201555606)

If Uganda evacuated the backbencher seats to the front seats, it would easily win favor from the teacher, preventing the avalanches of agitations we’ve been warned about by Prophet Elvis Mbonye.

Our places of worship too must open if the rest of the country is open, for the ultimate solution is to totally lift the lockdown and let the economy return to normal since the coronavirus can be dealt with like any other killer disease.

Proverbs 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in a multitude of counsellors there is safety.
