KAMPALA, UGANDA: Police has confirmed that the DNA results from tests carried out indicate that the decomposing body retrieved from a septic tank in Munyonyo is of Immaculate Mary Blessing Onebe, wife to businessman Francis Onebe.

Earlier today, the family of Onebe has picked her remains from the city mortuary for burial. According to police investigations, the decomposing body was about three weeks old at the time it was retrieved from a septic tank in their matrimonial home in Munyonyo Parish, Makindye division.

The 62-year-old wife, a proprietor of a security firm in Kampala and a co-director in Price and King, an Auditing firm with branches in Kenya reportedly went missing in January 2021.

Francis Onebe hurriedly reported the matter to Kabalagala police station with CCTV footage claiming that his wife had been kidnapped by a drone after she had gone grocery shopping and filed a missing person case.

The businessman would later also placed several adverts in the media seeking for the whereabouts of his wife.

Earlier this week, Police also confirmed that another body of a girl averred to be 18 years of age was retrieved from that same septic tank in Onebe’s home, giving rise to more controversy in the suspected homicide case.
