KAMPALA, UGANDA: City Businessman and Motorsport Ace Rajiv Ruparelia on Sunday held a mega Victory BBQ Party at Kabira Country Club as he celebrated his maiden win in the NRC5 Kabalega Rally 2021.
The Saturday rally which was the fifth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC5) saw Rajiv and his co-driver Enoch Olinga emerge victorious after trouncing motorsport bigwigs Duncan Mubiru, Omar Mayanja, Ronald Ssebuguzi among others.
Cruising in a VW Polo, Rajiv and his co-driver Enoch Olinga of the Ruparelia Rally Team put the pedal to the metal to keep within the top times of the event and make up for a delay suffered due to a mechanical glitch in the opening stage of the event.
The pair crossed the finish line in one hour, 45 minutes, and 41seconds to claim victory in the one-day rally.
As he aimed out to celebrate the emphatic rally win, Rajiv through the BBQ victory party dubbed “Meet & Greet with NCR5 Champion”, at Kabira Country Club on Sunday, October 24, 2021, revealed how his continued hard work and consistency led them to victory after series of burst outs in the previous rallies.
Speaking to journalists at Kabira, Rajiv attributed his victory to his team’s thorough preparation and said his mechanical team did everything they could to ensure they emerge victorious in this rally, which yielded good fruits.
The youthful tycoon promised to continue winning titles, saying, “every rally we compete in, we keep getting better”.
Asked if he set his eyes on the NRC title, Rajiv said his Rally team is ready to vie for the last line of the title, despite the previous unfortunate incidents, which according to him will be resolved in the coming preparations.
He, however, lashed out at the Motorsport regulators in the country for failing to harmonize a clear calendar of events which demeans their efforts to secure sponsors and advertisers.
Guests at Kabira Country club were treated to performances from Musicians Karole Kasita and Mpaka Records boss, Ykee Benda among other notable celebrities who included; Vision Group’s Denzel Mwiyeretsi, Sanyu FM’s Patrick Salvador, and celebrated city lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde among other partners, friends, and well-wishers of the Ruparelias.
Revelers were also treated to a sumptuous Barbecue meal prepared and served by the expert chefs at Kabira, along with lots of drinks and wines, complimented with the orchestrated sounds of good music to wind down the party moods.
The Kabalega Rally Edition win was also Rajiv’s maiden National Rally Championship victory.
The next and final round of the championship will head to Jinja on 26-28 November.
