One Dead, Scores injured as Suspected Bomb Blast hits Swift Bus along Masaka Road

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Atleast one person has been confirmed dead with several others injured after another suspected bomb attack hit Swift Safaris Bus bus Reg No UAU 989T at Katended-Lugala, Mpigi along Masaka Road.

According to an eyewitness who was also a passenger in the same bus, the fatality has not been identified yet but several other passengers escaped with injuries although other witnesses claim that two people had died on the spot.

The passenger goes on to thank God for the driver who was able to park the bus at the side of the road safely. “This has just happened today 25/10/2021. Pray for our country” said the passenger who escaped unhurt.

The Incident comes barely two days after the bombers detonated the explosive at Komamboga based Digida pork joint claiming a single life.

The Islamic State fighters on Monday morning claimed to have carried out the attack though the Police say they are still investigating who exactly did so.
