NAKASEKE, UGANDA: Two children have been killed in another bomb explosion in Ssegalye village, Semuto sub-county, Nakaseke district.
Police’s Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye confirmed the development in a tweet sent on Friday evening without providing particulars of the person who handed the explosive to the children.
The deceased, identified as Kiwuuwa Pathias, and Kiyingi Michael met their death after landing on the jackfruit-like explosive and started playing with it, killing them in an instant.
“A jackfruit-like explosive given to children in Ssegalye village, Semuto sub-county, Nakaseke district, instantly kills Kiwuuwa Pathias a physically handicapped child & Kiyingi Michael 14, who were playing together with another child Odong,” Kasingye tweeted on Friday. “Please report suspicious articles,” he argued the public.
The Nakaseke explosion follows recent terror incidents that have since marred the country ever since the UK terror alert was passed out weeks ago.
On Monday this week, a deadly explosion occurred on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company under registration number UAU 989T killing one person instantly, with three others picking injuries in the explosive attack.
The Mpigi bus incident happened just days after a bomb blast occurred in Komamboga, at Digida Pork joint where three people were reported dead, seven others critically injured in the attack.
By press time, Police was yet to issue an official statement on the explosion in Nakaseke.
