KAMPALA, UGANDA: Next Media Services has lineup NTV Uganda’s Crysto Panda as a replacement for MC Kats at NBS TV, according to social media reports.
Reports further suggest that the self-proclaimed king of the mic, MC Kats, real names Edwin Katamba recently announced he is resigning from his role as a TV presenter prompting the Naguru based station to pitch for a replacement imminently.
Kats who has been co-hosting the NBSAfter5 show with Douglas Lwanga, DJ Roja, and DVJ Mercy Pro, is reportedly quitting the station to concentrate on his HIV/AIDS education campaigns with Uganda Aids Commission and other health organizations to run the “End Aids By 2030” campaign.
The same reports further suggest that NTV’s Crysto Panda has already signed papers with NBS TV bosses to replace Kats, only awaiting the station’s official announcement.
A Naguru-based source also intimated to this reporter that Kats’ colleagues Dvj Mercy, DJ Roja, and Douglas Lwanga were shattered by the news and couldn’t accept the fact that their colleague is leaving them.
Mc Kats joined NBS Television in 2016 leaving NTV Uganda’s Exposed and has since been one of the station’s faces in the entertainment sector hosting the After5 show and Friday’s KatchUp show.
