Victoria University sets date, guidelines for resumption of physical classes

Victoria University Kampala has announced it has finalized plans to resume physical classes for all learners as the university braces for full reopening after over four months of closure due to the covid-19 pandemic.

In a memo dated October 29, 2021, released by the University Academic Registrar, Victoria University announced that physical classes will resume on the 15th November 2021, although in a staggered manner as guided by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE).

“Reference is made to the Presidential address aired on 22. September 2021 where higher education institutions of learning were permitted to re-open effective November 2021 on condition that they follow the agreed Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Pleases note: Victoria University shall resume the Physical Lectures at its premises starting on 15th November 2021 in a staggered manner,” the university memo reads in part.

However, the Registrar clarified that despite the resumption of the physical classes for some learners, the institution will still continue with its online classes; a virtual learning platform that has registered tremendous success throughout the covid-19 lockdown period.

“In the meantime. we shall continue conducting online lectures through the VCIass Learning portal. (www.vclass.ac),” the memo reads further.
