Khalifa Aganaga scoops full scholarship at Victoria University

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Musician Khalifa Aganaga real names Mukiiibi Sadat is over the moon after he scooped Victoria University’s full scholarship to finally achieve one of his dreams.

Announcing the big news through his socials, Khalifah couldn’t hide the happiness as he revealed that he doesn’t need to go to America anymore after university has given him a chance to pursue his educational goals.
Khalifa confirmed in a lengthy Facebook post that he will be studying Digital marketing and events management and further applauded Victoria University for the generous gesture.

“All I wanted was education, even when they have lied to me the ghetto boy that won’t stop me from pursuing my education goals, Now that Victoria University Kampala Uganda has volunteered to grant me this opportunity of education because of my good grades/results, I can’t turn this down,” Khalifa posted on Facebook.

“Am now a full student pursuing, Digital Marketing And Events Management,” he added. “Dear parents VU is the best for our kids, and dear fellow youths this University Issa Vibe,” Khalifa noted.

It should be noted that Khalifa had dropped out after Senior Six. Despite efforts to join Makerere Unity a year ago, the singer could not adhere to the tuition rates at Uganda’s oldest institution and would later drown in debts and fail to pay tuition opting him to shift all focus to his own music. The chance to join Victoria University in full scholarship, therefore, gives the musician a chance to finally achieve his academic goals and career dream.

It’s worth noting that victoria university is endorsed by the national council for higher education (NCHE) to continue conducting online lessons as well as physical learning.

The University has throughout the lockdown period devised several means of ensuring continuity in learning after rolling out the VClass, a state-of-the-art learning management system that caters to students not only in Uganda but across the globe. The VClass adopted by VU includes the following;

1. Online classes
2. Online examinations
3. Online tuition payments

The University that was opened in August 2013, has the capacity, facilities, and determination to revitalize higher education in Uganda and in the region with a commitment to play a leading role in bringing and developing high-quality education, student-centered learning opportunities based on standards of excellence that are unique, innovative and difficult to match.

Victoria University also offers a number of Academic Programmes at postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, foundation certificates, and professional development courses, all virtually accessible through the Vclass digital learning environment.
