Victoria University Extends Physical Classes at Market Plaza, serves lunch to over 2000 people

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Victoria University Kampala (VU), Uganda’s leading private institution of higher learning on Thursday launched its extended classrooms at another building in Kampala in a bid to accommodate the ever-increasing number of students flocking the University this Academic Year.

The newly extended state-of-the-art physical classes situated at Market Plaza in Kampala are set to ensure the University adheres to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) in compliance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES, National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to prevent the spread of the deadly infection.

Speaking at the launch of the classes at Market Plaza on Thursday, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga said the Victoria University in its capacity to become a leading transformational university thought it wise to expand its reach and bring the classes to the target community it serves, and that is why Market Plaza – situated in the heart of business community serves the right purpose for this move.

“Victoria University is building capacity that will see the institution become the leading University in Uganda very soon. “We are building a university that will transform society; the education we provide is to change society. You see this is a busy place, it is where the best businesses are and these people have problems they personally can’t solve. That’s where Victoria University comes in! That’s why we want every student studying business, or IT to come here and solve problems of the business community,” Dr. Muganga said.

He added; “We have a lot of students joining and we now have enough space at Market Plaza, about three to four floors which are going to include lecture rooms, lounges, and a restaurant for students.” “We going to lead the way and others will follow. We are going to transform society, which is our core aim.”

At the same colorful event, Victoria University served lunch to over 2000 members of the business community who turned up to embrace the grand opening of the extended classes.
