BUKWO, UGANDA: A senior police officer has been strangled to death by a yet-to-be-identified person. The incident occurred in Kamagunga village, Kapterewa sub-county in Bukwo district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased is Assistant Superintendent of Police Alfred Siwa, 60, who was attached to Anti Stock Theft Unit-ASTU. He was due for retirement next month.
Sipi region police spokesperson Fred Chesang said that Siwa was involved in an argument with a yet to be identified person who first hit him on the head and later strangled him to death.
Chesang noted that police have launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations into the untimely death of the officer get underway.
