30-year-old man burnt to death by unknown thugs in Kikuube

KIKUUBE, UGANDA: A 30-year-old man burnt to death by unknown thugs in Kyangwali Sub-county, Kikuube district, reports DailyExpress.

The deceased has been identified as Daniel Mbigizimana a resident of Kyamugasa village Butoole Parish in Kyangwali Sub-county.

It is alleged on Wednesday morning, unknown thugs went to Mbigizimana’s home at around 2pm and burnt his grass-thatched house while he was asleep. At the time these thugs came to his home, the deceased was alone in the house and therefore there was no one to support him.

Beatrice Alisaba one of the neighbors to the deceased says they heard alarms made by Mbigizimana but at time they reached his home, it was too late to rescue his life.
“On Wednesday morning at around 2pm we heard alarms coming from Mbigizimana’s home, we were asleep, and at time we rose up to come for rescue, we found a lot of smoke coming from Mbigizimana’s house, we tried to rescue unfortunately it was too late to save his life”. Alisaba said.

Edward Tumusiime also a resident of the same village wants police to make thorough investigations on the matter and punish those who have been behind the act.

Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine region police spokesperson says sofer they have arrested three people suspected to have burnt Mbigizimana’s house.
“Sofer three suspects are in our custody at Kikuube Central Police station and their details have been with held for security purposes and the remains of the deceased taken to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital mortuary”. Hakiza said.
