Adjumani district hosts Italian investors and entrepreneurs for multi-sectoral business growth

ADJUMANI, UGANDA: Adjumani district hosted the Italian investors and entrepreneurs for multi-sectoral business growth in the Madi subregion countering several districts in the north western part of Uganda.

The Italian investors and entrepreneurs jetted in Ma’di sub region, Adjumani in particular on the evening of 24, Nov 2021 and met all work of the life of people in Adjumani district council hall, the meeting which kicked off by singing all the recognized anthems in the country and prayers settled the already heart pumping local entrepreneurs and investors in the three districts of Adjumani, Moyo, and Obongi.  As on the other hand the Italian delegation was led by Her Excellency Ambassador to Italy Elizabeth Puala Napeyok. 

In the communications, the District Chairman Hon Anyama Ben recommended the people of Ma’di sub region that they are hardworking, peaceful and God fearing and thanked them for choosing Ma’di to explore their investments for the betterment of development in the region.

Whereas the chairman for west Nile chairperson’s association Hon Anyama Williams, who also doubles as the local council five of Moyo district gave his appreciation to Gen Moses Ali for building a global network to connect Ma’di region and European countries.

According to Palm Consult statistics, local women in Awindiri market in Adjumani town spend over 3 billion shillings in a year on purchase of vegetables, So with the coming of Italian investors to Ma’di sub region he thinks is a bigger opportunities to boost their market and enlarge their hands in the agricultural sector through improved mechanization of agriculture. 

“We shall talk to the people of Ma’di sub region to avail piece of lands for the investors to invest in to boost our markets”, says Anyama.

Professor Mikalla from Italy on behalf of all the investors said that there is a good opportunities in agriculture investments in Uganda, Adjumani in particular, the rotary club and genetic farm in Italy work together and so urged the rotary club be initiated here in Adjumani and said that they will start a rabbit project in Adjumani district. 

The rotary club Arua city chairman Mr. Emmanuel who also sees both Uganda and Tanzania rotary clubs said that rotary club years back fought hard and eliminated Polio out of Africa and urges people to join the club for the betterment of their lives and promised Adjumani people that they will open a branch for them and wondered why the Moyo branch is for many years still limping. 

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mr. Data Peter Taban in his elaborate communication said Ma’di people are so loving, peaceful, hardworking and hospitable that’s why they are hosting thousands of refugees from south Sudan. He thanked Gen Moses Ali for connecting Italian investors to come to Ma’di region to explore and develop the region.

“Adjumani is a fertile ground for investors to invest on whatever they want to do”, says Mr. Data Peter Taban .
