Hoima hospital lacks special machines to work on patients

Hoima Regional Referral Hospital

HOIMA, UGANDA: Hoima City authorities led by Dr. Joseph Ruyonga the Hoima West Division Legislator have paid a visit to the Hoima Regional Referral Hospital (HRRH) to assess the current situation of the Hospital in terms of equipment and other medical services.

In response to their findings, Dr. Ruyonga noted that the hospital is lacking equipment to work on numerous patients that visit the hospital to get treatment.
“The Hospital is a digital X-RAY machine and other machines to work on different patients admitted, so am going to write it he Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwiine and the minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Acheng so as to make them of the lack of such machines and put measures to avail the equipment,” said Dr. Ruyonga.

Peter Ojok the senior Hospital Administrator at Hoima RRH told the visiting team that due to lack of some medical equipment like radiology forces them to send those patients who get injuries on their heads to Kampala to be operated on there.
“We are lacking a radiology and we have no one to operate in case demanded for, so that’s why we always send patients who need such services to Kampala”. Ojok said.

Brian Kaboyo the Hoima City Mayor pledged to address some of the problems which have been affecting people and patients at Hoima hospital through teamwork and collaboration with leaders of different authorities.

“We women are our mothers, so don’t want you to suffer more, we want to make sure that there is good service delivery to our people, also ask to give us equipment that is missing in our Hospital and as Hoima as Hoima City we shall put a board member to monitor the operations of the Hospital and also collect people’s views”. Kaboyo added.
