New religion that stops believers from seeking medication discovered in Kakumiro

KAKUMIRO, UGANDA: Residents of of Rubani Village, in Kaika Parish Nalweyo Town council in Kakumiro District are shocked by a new religion discovered in their area that stops believers from seeking medication from health facilities.

According to the reports, the newly established religion is called malachal Mighty God.

One of the believers of this religion identified as Asinance Babirye a resident of Rubani Village is in a critical medical condition at her home and she has totally refused to go to the hospital to seek for medication.

Residents say Babirye has completely refused to what is happening to her life, but her body is full of wounds and some parts have started to rotten.

“For the past three weeks, we as residents have been requesting her to go hospital for treatment, but she tells us that her religion is not allowing her to visit Health facilities”.

“Even her relatives have completely refused to take their relative to hospital arguing that their religion is against the act”, they added.

Meanwhile Vincent Kisembo the Nalweyo Town council Mayor says as leaders, they have tried to send doctors to Babirye’s home but she denies them access.

“We have sent Doctors to go and treat Babirye at home twice but she has totally refused to be treated so we are asking higher authorities to come and investigate on this misleading religion”. Vincent added.
