Kikuube District launches Covid-19 Mass vaccination campaign

KIKUUBE, UGANDA: Kikuube District has launched a Covid 19 Mass vaccination campaign after receiving enough vaccination doses from the ministry of health.

According to the district leaders, this campaign will last for seven days.
Peter Byaruhanga the Kikuube District officer in charge of Covid 19 tasks says the district received 181725 vaccination doses of Johnson and Johnson and 6000 doses of AstraZeneca.

“Our target is to vaccinate over 170000 people among 125 vaccination Centres with in Kikuube District which includes hospitals and other Centres”. Byaruhanga said.

Peter Banura the Kikuube District chairperson urged residents to turn up in big numbers for the Vaccination activity.

“These vaccines are very good, have no harm to human health after being verified by World health organization and therefore am calling all the people of Kikuube District to visit the near by health centers for the vaccination exercise”. Banura said.

Banura adds that the government of Uganda has played it’s role of acquiring these vaccines, so people should also play their role of getting vaccinated.
“You know very well that our children will resume their studies in January next year and the reopening exercise requires all teachers to be already vaccinated as per the ministry of health guidelines so this campaign is aimed at chasing Covid 19 in Uganda”. Banura added.
