Ugandans advised to be security conscious during Christmas celebrations

HOIMA, UGANDA: Hon. Pius Wakabi, the Bugahya county legislator has warned Ugandans to be vigilant and security conscious as they celebrate the festive season.

According to the legislator, wrong doers especially the thieves, and terrorists normally utilize this season to cause harm to Ugandans and their properties.

“Utilize your Community leaders and always report suspects to police as the world is nearing Christmas celebrations because during this season, stealing, murder among other crimes are common”. Hon. Wakabi said.

Wakabi also urged good cooperation between security agencies and the natives so as to avoid crime in this festive season. He also warned couples to avoid misunderstandings that may occur due to these celebrations.

Wakabi said, as a family they should and solve their disagreements rather than divorcing.

“Festive season comes and go every year, so it is not good for a wife to divorce that because the has failed to buy her a cloth for Christmas, husband has failed to buy meat, or due to the failure to send Christmas gifts to his wife’s parents”. Wakabi added.

He warned parents not to over spend during the Christmas celebrations since since children are expected to resume studies early January next year.

“Don’t over spend, preserve money for school fees, it is bad to spend now but when time comes to take your children back to school next year you seek for a loan”.
