KAKUMIRO, UGANDA: Police in Kakumiro District is holding a 62 year old man for allegedly killing his own one month old baby boy.
The suspect has been identified as George Tiruraga a resident of Kataihuka village in Kirisa Parish in Kakumiro District.
It is alleged that on Friday last week at around 9pm Tiruraga developed misunderstandings with his wife Gorret Kasafari accusing her of adultery. Later Kasafari ran away in attempt to rescue her life after his husband became so angry and left her one month old baby boy.
On return home on Saturday morning, she found when his husband had already murdered their baby boy and left the dead body in their house.
Stephen Bahati the Kitaihuka village chairperson says, after killing the baby boy, Tiruraga ran away from home.
Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Regional police spokesperson says, police and residents launched the hunt for the merciless man and they arrested him on Sunday and later taken to Kakumiro Central Police station.
“Through joint effort of the community and Uganda police, Tiruraga was arrested on Sunday and is now in our custody at Kakumiro CPS where he is accused of killing a person and after police investigations, he will be taken to court for murder charges”. Hakiza said.
