KAGADI: Muhooro Subcounty chief accused of mismanagement of Covid funds

KAGADI, UGANDA: John Turyatemba the Muhooro Subcounty chief in Kagadi District is in danger after the Subcounty leaders accused him of mismanaging his office through misuse of Covid 19 funds.

Speaking to DailyExpress, Apollo Muhumuza the Muhooro Subcounty chairperson says the leaders wants the sub county chief to be transferred with immediate effect.

“Hon. Turyatemba failed to give an accountability on how the Covid 19 funds that was given to the sub county in June last year by the ministry of healthto control the spread of Covid 19 was utilized”. Muhumuza said.

According to Muhumuza the Subcounty council has already passed an audinance to vote Turyatemba out of office.

“As the subcounty council, we have decided not to have a council meeting again until the chief is transferred, because he has completely failed to manage his office and give accountability of the Covid 19 funds, and failing to bring the school desks which he budgeted for in the last quator for our children to study”. Muhumuza said.

However, Turyatemba in his response denied allegations to the critics and said he managing his office according to the rules and regulations of his appointment and those who are criticizing him are just against him.
