KAGADI, UGANDA: The State Minister for Local Government, Hon. Victoria Rusoke has paid a visit to the Kagadi District Local Government to assess the recently concluded recruitment process of Parish chiefs and ward agents in the district after receiving complaints from some members about the irregularities in the exercise.
Minister Rusoke was escorted by representatives from Public Service Commission who met the Kagadi District Service Commission led by the district chairperson, the commission secretary, the RDC, and the CAO.
Speaking to Daily Express, Minister Rusoke said that they have received several complaints from Kagadi District residents who spotted some irregularities during the recruitment exercise of Parish chiefs and ward agents.
“I hear, there was a lot of corruption tendencies whereby some of the candidates’ names were forwarded by the district leaders and some of these people do not have enough qualifications for the job. Therefore, we cannot allow this to happen and we are going to investigate the truth which after the findings, we shall work upon them according to the law”. Hon. Rusoke said.
The minister said, in the meeting with the District leaders, they have agreed that the academic documents for the parish chiefs will be picked from the Service Commission secretary and taken to the ministry headquarters for verification and screening. She promised to publically declare the findings this month and arrest all candidates found to have submitted forged academic documents.
“We are going to screen their documents from the headquarters and the results shall be published to the public, those who will have submitted forged academic documents shall be arrested and worked upon”. Rusoke said.
Meanwhile, Lilian Ruteraho the Kagadi RDC, and the District chairperson Hon. Ndibwaami Yosiya promised to cooperate with the ministry in regard to get rid of the irregularities that might have occurred during the recruitment process.
