One dead, another injured in a Hoima fatal accident

Eyewitnesses say Kisembo died on the spot and the Boda Boda cyclist got a fractured leg and was immediately rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

HOIMA, UGANDA: At least one person has been confirmed dead and one sustained injuries after an over speeding truck carrying sugar cane knocked a Boda Boda cyclist on Hoima main Street in Hoima city.

The accident occurred on Thursday morning at around 9 am near Equity Bank Hoima branch.

The deceased has been identified as Hope Kisembo, a medical Nurse working with one of the private clinics in Kiryatete East cell in Hoima city.

Kisembo who was on the Boda Boda was knocked by the heavy truck which was at a high speed leading to her death.
Eyewitnesses say Kisembo died on the spot and the Boda Boda cyclist got a fractured leg and was immediately rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

There have been several complaints from Hoima city residents in the previous months who were accusing the Hoima city authorities of their failure to stop sugar cane trucks from accessing the Hoima city roads.

At the time of this report, police had not yet released a report about the accident since they were still investigating the matter.
