Kikuube District extension workers received brand new motorcycles from Govt

According to Dr. Barnabus Ntume the Kikuube District Agricultural Officer, each motorcycle is worth 10 million shillings.

KIKUUBE, UGANDA: The Kikuube District Local Government through the district production office has purchased Motorcycles worth 30 million shillings to be given to extension workers in order to ease their movement.

According to Dr. Barnabus Ntume the Kikuube District Agricultural Officer, each motorcycle is worth 10 million shillings.
“Each motorcycle was purchased at 10 million shillings and this money was deducted from the annual government financial support to agricultural sector”. Dr. Ntume said.

The motorcycles were handed over to the extension workers by Kikuube RDC Hon. Amulan Tumusiime, who urged them to utilize them effectively so as to improve agricultural production in the district.
“Am requesting all the extension workers who have been given these motorcycles to use them for official duty, do not use them for your own purposes because these are government properties”. Hon. Tumusiime said.

Peter Banura the Kikuube District chairperson says the motorcycles were handed over to extension workers who had no transport means.
“These people have a lot of work such as training farmers on the modern methods of farming, giving them advice among others which needs them to travel, so I think the availability of these motorcycles will enable the smooth running of their activities”. Hon. Banura said.
