KAMPALA, UGANDA: The Uganda Registrations Services Bureau – URSB has given City Lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi additional evidence pinning Pastor Aloysious in the unscrupulous bigamy case.

URSB in a letter dated January 13, 2022, confirmed to Mabirizi that Pastor Bugingo on 20th December 2003 entered into legal marriage with wife Teddy Naluswa Bugingo under vide Certificate Number 376 at Victory Christian Church in Ndeeba, Kampala.

“The search was conducted on the marriage register and results confirmed that; PASTOR ALOYSIOUS BUGINGO AND TEDDY NALUSWA BUGINGO’s marriage was solemnized on the 20. day of December 2003 at Victory Christian Centre Ndeeba, under vide Certificate Number 376,” the letter from URSB’s Registrar of Marriages reads.

The URSB evidence adds to the videotape recordings availed to Mabirizi by the Uganda Communications Commissions – UCC last week to be used in Bugingo and Makula’s case during the trial.

According to Mabirizi, the information provided by URSB is a very important piece of evidence since the offenses faced by BUJJINGO & MAKULA are hinged on the existence of a subsisting marriage between him & Teddy Naluswa.

Bugingo and Makula were dragged to court by Mabirizi on claims that they contracted a customary marriage amidst another existing marriage, which the lawyer termed as bigamy.

By definition, Bigamy is the act of entering into a marriage with one person while still legally married to another. The law states a legal or de facto separation of the couple does not alter their marital status as married persons, and this is why Mabirizi filed the suit against the born-again pastor.
