KAMPALA, UGANDA: Renowned Gospel singer, and the former Woman MP for Buikwe District, Judith Babirye has come out and apologised to the nation for the hearts she broke in her second marriage with a married man (Paul Musoke Ssebulime) saying it was not right.

The Beera Nange singer, who is also a senior pastor at Judith Babirye Ministries in a viral video appeared to bow her head down in a dejected look in low tone voice with Omusayi gwa yesu (one of her songs) amply playing in the background spat out words apologizing to God, Sebulime’s wife, and Ugandans at large. She said that she is taken as a role model by many and therefore she felt it wise to publically come out and apologize.

Babirye went on and on about her mistakes, rubbing in her disgrace, and breaking down her transgressions.
“I come to you my brother, I come to you my sister, please forgive me. I regret and apologize to so many people I hurt with my mistake,” she rued.

She went on about her marriage, asking those that were hurt and wounded to forgive her.
“Please forgive me for the mistake,” she added, issuing a general call to believers, pastors, and the entire nation to forgive her.

“I want to apologize to Ms. Lukia Ntale, forgive me, I do not know how I can stress this but I am so sorry, what I did was not right, please find space in your heart to forgive me. Forgiveness is divine, I know it is not an easy thing but I beg you,” she cried.

Background:

In 2018, Babirye exchanged marriage vows with former Buikwe County North Member of Parliament Paul Musoke Sebulime at Las Vegas, Bunga in Kampala. This happened when Sebulime was already married to another woman called Lukia Ntale.

The ceremony that was held amidst tight security was attended by the then Vice president Edward Ssekandi, a handful of Church leaders among other dignitaries.

After just 17 months, Court allowed Sebulime and fellow legislator Judith Babirye to divorce each other.

Justice Olive Karazarwe Mukaye of Makindye-based family division court said the petitioner Sebulime gave a detailed account of Babirye’s cruel actions that caused him mental and psychological torture.

Before court could dissolve their union, Sebulime had already made up with his former wife Lukiya Ntale.
