Mutebile’s tentative burial program out

According to the tentative program, the body of the late Tumusiime Mutebile arrives in Uganda this Tuesday (tomorrow) January 25, 2022.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Government has released a tentative program for the burial of Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, the fallen Bank of Uganda Governor. Mutebile died on Sunday morning January 23, 2022, at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya where he had been admitted at the beginning of the year battling diabetes and kidney-related complications

While issuing the burial program for the gallant economist, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja said that a committee headed by the ICT Minister Dr. Chris Baryomunsi and State Minister for Industry Hon David Bahati had been formed by the government to oversee the burial program.

According to the tentative program, the body of the late Tumusiime Mutebile arrives in Uganda this Tuesday (tomorrow) January 25, 2022.

Minister Bahati who is also the Ndorwa West Member of Parliament in Kabale District where Mutebile hails from said that there will be a Vigil at the deceased home at Kololo on Wednesday evening.

Hon Bahati said that according to the tentative program, there will be a Session in Parliament to honor the fallen Governor of the Bank of Uganda on Thursday morning at 10 am.

The official funeral of the late Tumusiime Mutebile is expected to take place at Kololo Independence Grounds on Friday starting 10 am with President Museveni expected to be the chief mourner.

Hon Bahati said that the body is expected to be taken to Kabale over weekend by air either on Sunday evening or Monday morning depending on the arrangements and final funeral service and burial will take place at his ancestral home in Ruhita Kabale Municipality on Monday next week.

The burial committee is expected to meet again on Wednesday at Serena Conference Center to confirm and or adjust in the program.
