Kagadi Hospital Staff accused of selling Hospital properties

It is alleged some Hospital staff may have connived with the residents to smuggle government properties including drugs.

KAGADI, UGANDA: Police in Kagadi is investigating the theft and sale of government properties belonging to Kagadi General government Hospital. It is alleged some Hospital staff may have connived with the residents to smuggle government properties including drugs.

Moses Muzima Kiconco the Kagadi District Police Commander confirmed the investigations on Tuesday morning.

Preliminary investigations indicate that some hospital staff have created shortcuts by breaking the hospital fence to pave way for thieves to get access to the hospital at night.

Now Muzima has asked the hospital administration to clean the bush surrounding the staff quarters saying it’s where criminals pass to access the health facility.

Simon Tumusiime the Kagadi General Hospital administrator says it’s two years now since the hospital started losing equipment and drugs.
“It now two years since we started losing properties including drugs from the hospital and therefore we are calling upon security to help us in investigating the matter”. Mr. Tumusiime said.
