Maj Gen. Sabiiti Muzeeyi Pulls out a Master Stroke on Environment

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The UPDF Chief Civil Military Cooperation Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande together with his notable colleagues in service Major General Sabiiti Muzeeyi, Manager Luwero industries, and Maj. General Don Nabaasa, head of military police yesterday received five hundred about (500) tree seedlings from Million Trees International Organization.

The donation, comprising mangoes, oranges, and guavas tree seedlings is a Corporate Social Responsibility move for Million Trees Company to UPDF in commemoration of the latter’s 41st Terehe Sita Anniversary.

Brig. Gen. Rwashande commended Million Trees Organisation for preserving the environment, adding that the donated fruit seedlings will boost both the health and environment in the Elgon region.

Major General Sabiiti Muzeeyi, Manager Luwero industries planting one of the trees planted by Million trees international.

Dr. Jibril Owomugasha on behalf of Million Trees International Organization noted that they intend to double forest cover from the current 12.4 percent.
He added that such projects provide peace dividends to communities.

This year’s symbolic Terehe Sita anniversary activities that include minor civil works and refurbishment of some sanitation activities will be held in the Elgon region.

The handover of Seedlings at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters was also witnessed by representatives from UPDF Chieftaincy of Military Commisariate, Defence Spokesperson and others fr from Million Trees International Organization.
