Kampala Parents urges teachers to adapt teaching approaches for learners with special needs

The coronavirus (COVID19) that rattled the world in the past two years has left many children with different learning and education needs and therefore teachers must adapt varying teaching approaches to address these needs sustainably, Kampala Parents’ School has advised.

For Kampala Parents School, an international school that offers a local curriculum, this has been an issue of concern has prepared teachers to deal with it in a manner that helps students excel academically despite their different learning challenges.

“Our teachers have adapted new techniques and approaches to deal with different students so that every pupil has the chance to perform to the best of their ability,” the school principal Daphne Kato said.

She added: “At Kampala Parents’, we actively encourage students to go beyond the syllabus: to do their own research, to ask questions, to read around the subject, this helps them achieve high grades,”

All classrooms, the school said, have been thoroughly disinfected and all teachers and staff have been fully vaccinated. This has been done to keep the learning environment safe and free of COVID19.
