Kampala Parents Schools (KPS) has announced it will this week register the pupils for Birth Certificates and National Identification Numbers (NIN) as a National Registration requirement.
The exercise will be conducted by the National Identification & Registration Authority – NIRA starting Tuesday, Feb 08, to Friday, Feb 11 at the school premises in Naguru, Kampala, the school announced via its socials.
“Dear Parents, please be informed that commencing 8th Feb Tuesday, there will be a registration of child National Identification Number (NIN) and birth certificate registration conducted by NIRA,” reads a Facebook post on Kampala Parents page.

In the three-day program running from 8 am to 4 pm, KPS says on Tuesday, registration will be for classes P.4 & P.5, while Wednesday, classes from P.2 & P.3 will register, on Thursday Top Class & P.1 classes and on Friday, Middle and Baby Classes.
According to KPS, the requirements for a birth certificate registration include, among others the following;
- Notification of Birth from the health facility where birth of the child occured,
- Copies of Parents National IDs,
- And or a letter from the LC and a guardian’s ID in case of death of both parents.
- Plus, a payment receipt of UGX 5000 paid to the bank, and bank charges of Shs 2,300 for Nationals.
- While non-nationals (foreigners) pay a fee of USD40 for the birth certificate registration exercise.

- Physical presence of the child
- A Notice of birth duly filled by the parents/guardians or declarant parent present
- Copies of National IDs of the parents (at least one present)
- And Copies of Declarant Parents (where applicable).
