KAMPALA, UGANDA: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Mr. Pius Biribonwoha as Uganda’s Deputy Solicitor General.
The development was confirmed by Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka through a social media message on Friday, February 12, 2022, welcoming the new recruit to the Attorney General’s Chambers.
Biribonohwa who has been serving as General Counsel in the Legal Department of the Parliament of Uganda replaces Justice Christopher Gashirabake, who was last year appointed by the President to the Court of Appeal.
The duties of the Deputy Solicitor General among others include; Consulting and coordinating with the Attorney General, the Solicitor General, and other senior management on matters which are pending, or may be brought, before the appellate courts.
