35-year-old-woman hacked to death by husband in Kagadi

The incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 5pm after the couple developed some disagreements for unknown reason which forced Busobozi to cut his wife Kyaligonza on the neck hence leading to death.

KAGADi, UGANDA; Police in Kagadi district is on a hunt for a man identified as Busobozi for allegedly hacking his wife to death.

The suspect is accused of hacking his wife identified as Mary Kyaligonza aged 35 a resident of Kisangwa village in Kinyarugonjo Sub County in Kagadi District.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 5pm after the couple developed some disagreements for unknown reason which forced Busobozi to cut his wife Kyaligonza on the neck hence leading to death.

Godfrey Alinaitwe the brother to the deceased says, after killing his wife, Busobozi ran away from home and he is still at large.

According to Alinaitwe, despite residents’ attempt to rescue Kyaligonza’s life after hearing alarms, it was too late since she was severely cut leaving her dead on spot.

Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Regional police spokesperson has confirmed the incident and said that the investigations on the matter have commenced.

According to Hakiza, the deceased died due to too much bleeding caused by severe cuts on the neck.
“Kyaligonza’s body was recovered and taken to Kagadi General Hospital for a postmortem and was later handed over to his relatives for burial arrangements as police continue the hunt for the suspect”. Hakiza said.
