Three people perish in Kakumiro-Hoima Road fatal accident

The deceased have been identified as Joseph Ngabirano, Peter Abomugisa, and Moses Nkwasibwe all residents of Kanyegaramire cell in Kyenjojo District.

KAKUMIRO, UGANDA: At least three people have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident on Kakumiro- Hoima Road that involved a Bajaj Motorcycle and a Taxi.
The accident occurred on Monday evening at around 5 pm in Katera cell in Kakumiro Town council.

The deceased have been identified as Joseph Ngabirano, Peter Abomugisa, and Moses Nkwasibwe all residents of Kanyegaramire cell in Kyenjojo District.

The trio were traveling on a motorcycle registration number UFM 049Q from Kakumiro to Hoima when the cyclist failed to negotiate a corner leading to a head-to-head knock with a taxi registration number UBJ 279K which was traveling from Kakumiro heading to Mwitanzige.

Stephen Mucunguzi the Kakumiro District traffic Officer has confirmed the accident and says police investigating the cause of the accident.

The taxi and the Bajaj Motorcycle that caused an accident were all arrested and taken to Kakumiro Central Police station.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were taken to Kakumiro Health Centre iv for a postmortem and later handed over to the relatives for barrial arrangements.
