The councilors exchanged blows in the council meeting at Hoima District Headquarters in Kasingo Ward in Hoima city. The fight began after some of the councilors led by Patrick Rusoke for Buraru Sub-county protested the councilor meeting accusing the District Speaker Hon. Swaib Nyangabyaki of failure to inform them in time.

The councilors accused the speaker of failure to give clear reasons for the call of the meeting within a short time.

According to reports from Wednesday’s meeting, the councilors accused the District Speaker Hon. Nyangabyaki of conniving with the District Chairperson Hon. Kadir Karungi to manage the district in an unlawful way.

Through the exchange of views during the meeting, Minister Magyezi asked the councilors to be culm and directed the Hoima District Executive committee to coordinate with the councilors and promised that a team from the Ministry is to be sent to Hoima to investigate in the incident and a report of the findings will be released in a two weeks time.

Hon. David Karubanga the Kigorobya county legislator says the fight in the district council created a bad image of Hoima District to the rest of the world.
