Residents Shocked as Man Resurrects Months after Burial

BUSIA, UGANDA: Residents of Nekuku village, Lunyo sub county in Busia district were on Wednesday left in shock as a man who is believed to have died and buried months ago resurfaced on the village.

According to George Odwori, his brother, Ouma Godfrey Bakko, 38, reportedly went missing during the lockdown and were recently told how he died and his body ready for pickup.

“I received a phone call informing me that Bakko had died and picked his body for burial,” Odwori narrates.

He however says that he was shocked to receive another phone call on Wednesday informing him that his brother had returned.

Ouma’s mother Tabitha Ajambo, says that when she received news of the death of her son, she went to Masafu hospital but couldn’t identify the body and was told that it had decomposed.

She says that one of the workers at the mortuary offered to check the body and told her that it was her son whom they went ahead and buried.

Ajambo, however, says they were shocked when Bakko resurfaced on the village on Wednesday almost giving them a heart attack.
