School director arrested over aggravated defilement of 11-yr-old pupil

The victim’s mother upon hearing of the atrocious incident immediately rushed her child to Luwero hospital where it was established that she was defiled and infected with STDs.

LUWERO. UGANDA: Police in Luwero have arrested the director of Vision Nursery and Primary School, a one Muhammad Kivumbi for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old pupil and infecting her with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Police said that Mr. Kivumbi on Friday, April 1, 2022, summoned the 11-year-old girl through the school matron when he asked her to bring books to his office around 10 pm where he defiled her from.

She claims that Kivumbi repeatedly used the same trick to defile her several times prompting her to open up to her mother during her visit to the school.

The victim while narrating her ordeal to police explained that Kivumbi threatened to curse her to fail her Primary Leaving Exams (PLE) if she dared to tell anybody about the incident.

The victim’s mother upon hearing of the atrocious incident immediately rushed her child to Luwero hospital where it was established that she was defiled and infected with STDs. She immediately lodged a complaint at Wobulenzi Police Station, which swung into action and picked up the director.

Isah Ssemwogerere, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, says that Kivumbi is currently in custody at Luwero Central Police Station on charges of aggravated defilement. He says that they have submitted his file to the State Attorney for sanctioning.

In December last year, a teacher at Child Care Primary School in Kikyusa town council in Luwero district was also arrested for defiling a nine-year-old pupil who was entrusted to him for private coaching. According to a Crime report released by Police, at least 174 children were defiled in Luwero district in 2020.
