Singer Julie Mutesasira opens up on her LGBT lifestyle, reveals why she fled to Canada

“Being a gay woman in Uganda and married to a pastor, that’s an abomination,” Mutesasira, an ex-wife to a city pastor said during an interview

Julie Mutesasira, a renowned Ugandan gospel singer and ex-wife to Pastor Steven Mutesasira has finally spoken out on why she fled Uganda for Canada amidst circulating reports that she had turned gay despite being a staunch Christian and practicing pastor.

Julie during an interview in Canada where she’s currently staying with her two kids Ezekiel and Esther Mutesasira confirmed that she left her homeland after coming out to expose her sexual identity as a lesbian.

“I decided to leave Uganda because I came out, because of my security. Being a gay woman in Uganda and married to a pastor, that’s an abomination,” Julie said in front of her kids who performed at the recent Canada’s Got Talent show in Toronto.

The 17 and 13-year-olds who in 2019 won the inaugural East African Got Talent put up a stunning performance of the Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown duet ‘No Air’ leaving the audience and judges in awe.

Background

It all started in 2020 when netizens were shocked by Julie’s changed lifestyle after photos of her wedding a fellow woman flooded social media with many coming to a conclusion that the former wife of a renowned city pastor had joined the LGBT community.

Canada is popularly known as the country with the largest population of its natives living a free and acceptable LGBT lifestyle.
