On Wednesday last week, Salvado announced that he was quitting his job at Sanyu FM. The comedian joined the radio station in June 2020, and had been hosting its popular Breakfast show.

Salvado also revealed that he was resigning simply because he wants to concentrate on his personal projects.

Following Salvado’s announcement, Sanyu FM General Manager Chris Ireland said in a statement that the former had always been a true friend and companion of the Ruparelia family as such, it is hardly surprising that upon invitation by Rajiv Ruparelia he wasted no time in jumping in to fill the void on the breakfast show during the harsh Covid-19 lockdown.

“It was never a secret that at any point in the future Salvado would have to follow his true calling and do what he does best on the comedy circuit once the economy was fully open,” Mr Ireland said.

The Ruparelia Group would like to thank Salvado for his selfless contribution to the success of Sanyu FM during the time he was the lead host on the Breakfast Club, a role he executed flawlessly with his characteristic wit and humor.”

Mr Ireland further wished Salvado more success in his future projects and pledged that he will always be welcome as part of Sanyu FM family.

Patrick Salvado joined Sanyu FM in 2020 during the hard times of COVID-19 pandemic that had struck the world that brought about the halting of shows and gathering of crowds.

The pandemic left performers, entertainers, and football games with no chance of making money after a lock on Events and Music shows.

He joined the Morning Breakfast show alongside Deedan and Yvonne. However, since the economy fully opened he has been missing his shows on Sanyu FM because of his frequent travels in and out of the country to perform comedy in different places.

He then felt it was wise for him to tender in his resignation instead of always being absent from the morning show.
