A section of concerned Ugandans have asked government to consider tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia among those that should be allocated more pieces of Naguru-Nakawa land since he is a well-known genuine investor whose businesses have boosted the country’s development.
This comes amidst an ongoing by the parliamentary Adhoc Committee members investigating circumstances under which government allocated Naguru land to investors some of whom are nonexistent.
It should be recalled that President Museveni recently ordered Uganda Land Commission to only allocate the said land to financially capable companies and investors to develop it which will in turn create employment opportunities for Ugandans.
Among the renowned investors who got land include Uganda’s money magnet Dr.Sudhir Ruparelia. While appearing before the above-mentioned committee last week, Sudhir who is Chairman Meera Investments, revealed that he was only allocated three acres yet he had applied for 10 acres.
It is from the above background that the property mogul asked the MPs to help him acquire seven more acres to make them 10 as per his initial request revealing that some of the companies were given more land than his yet they are non-existent.
“They allocated land to people who don’t exist, so what is wrong with me getting ten acres. I’m requesting the honorable members and the chairperson to help me get ten acres,” he said.
Sudhir has since been backed up by magnitude of Ugandans who say that he is a genuine investor whose developments are visible and beneficial to the country.
”Infact, Sudhir should be given more land, He is a genuine local investor whose developments we all see and enjoy, unlike some ghost investors being allocated land,” said a one Edwin Muzahura, prominent patriotic Ugandan.
Furious Muzahura adds, ”How is it a problem that Sudhir got a title in two days when he processed it from the right lands offices? This is how enemies of progress destroyed his Crane Bank to steal and now we are at the mercy of foreign robbers called banks!”
Sudhir acquired the three hectares through Meera Investments, a company known for competence and capacity to provide services of construction, building material supply, furniture supply, refurbishment, and consultancy.
Over the years, the company has undertaken many challenging projects and accumulated skills & experiences in design and builds solutions, project management services, real estate, building trades and related engineering works.
The company has built a reputation for delivering innovative solutions in the construction of commercial and residential structures throughout the country.
Today, Meera investment takes on the role of main contractor for small to medium size projects and performs project management services to coordinate specialist trades for industrial/commercial and residential projects. They also provide market guidance as value-add service to their clients.
