MAO: ‘People Just Want Money from Muhoozi, They Don’t Love Him’

Appearing on the same show, former ethics minister Miria Matembe also said it is simply money and food that throngs of Ugandans were rallying behind Muhoozi.

The Opposition Democratic Party (DP) president Nobert Mao has argued that some people support first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his rumored presidential ambitions because of food and money.

On April 23, Kainerugaba held a birthday party at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. At the party, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander of UPDF Land Forces, unveiled his plan for Ugandan youth.

People who attended the celebration at Lugogo Cricket Oval were given free food. A day before the Lugogo event, a similar celebration was held at Kizinda Grounds in Bushenyi District.

Earlier, Muhoozi had addressed those who participated in a marathon to honor him. The first son said the country was on fire because of him.

But according to Mao, there is something being used to attract people to the Muhoozi Project.
“If you are catching white ants, you use a light to attract them. I don’t want Andrew to deny that there is a stimulus attracting people to the Muhoozi project,” Mao said on Thursday, on NBS Frontline talkshow.

Appearing on the same show, former ethics and integrity minister Miria Matembe also said it is simply money and food that throngs of Ugandans were rallying behind Muhoozi.
“All people need is money. The people of Bushenyi who turned up for the Muhoozi’s birthday party turned up for food and money,” claimed Matembe.
