SHOCKING: Kyambogo University records five students’ deaths in one month

The mourning days at the University started last month on 16th March when an engineering student, Kimera Boniface Olara was pronounced dead after missing for days.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: The last 30 days at Kyambogo University have been the most difficult times the institution has faced after registering five students’ deaths with devastating instances surrounding their demise.

The mourning days at the University started last month on 16th March when an engineering student, Kimera Boniface Olara was pronounced dead after missing for days. It was further reported that Olara, who was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive and Power Engineering had been slain and his body dumped around the shores of Lake Victoria.

Kimera Boniface, a final year student of Automotive and power engineering was reported dead on 16th March two days after he went missing.

Barely a week later, another Kyambogo University first-year student, Rahmah Nakibuuka Namatovu mysteriously passed on at Mulago hospital after being admitted with an unknown illness.

Early this month, another day of gloom befell the university, Nicholas Collins Dhabasada who was a second-year student of Management Science died on 13th April 2022 after having slipped off from a hilltop at his home in Luuka District.

Seven days later, a procurement finalist at the university, Naigobe Esther passed away on 20th April after being knocked dead by a trailer along Jinja road in Kampala.

The climax of the sorrowful days came early this week with yet another shocking death of Kemigisha Miriam, a finalist student who had been pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance on 25th April 2022.

Kemigisha just like Naigobe had just finished final examinations as well and was doing internship as she hoped to graduate in September.

Kemigisha Mariam was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance and had just sat her final examinations.

As if that was not enough, the University was also hit with the sudden death of the beloved alumnus Mr. Gabriel who committed suicide after failing to find employment after having graduated in 2019.

May the souls of all the departed Kyambogo University students rest in eternal peace.
