Victoria University Kampala, Uganda’s leading transformational university has announced open admissions inviting applicants to join their September Intake 2022 for a Bachelors or Master of Science in Public Health.
Through their socials, VU, as it is popularly known revealed that interested applicants with an ambition to kickstart their academic journey in the medical world are particularly urged to apply for the few slots remaining on this hot-selling program.
“If you are dedicated to the idea of helping people who need medical assistance, but you are not a medical practitioner yet, a career in Public Health could be your calling. You sh’d consider a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health @VUKampala,” VU tweeted on Saturday evening.
This evidence-based curriculum of this Public Health program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to be able to monitor community health by identifying health needs, implementing policies that promote health, evaluating health services, and eliminating health disparities.
The course aims to public health practitioners and leaders with the capacity and skills to solve existing and emerging health issues in the community, country and across the world.
According to VU, Graduates of this program will gain:
- The ability to evaluate and analyse the current challenges confronting public health and the provision of health services.
- The knowledge to engage in policy debates about global and international health, and respond to the challenge of the widening health disparities that exist within communities and between countries.
- An understanding of the role public health practitioners play as advocates for change in public health and of the strengths and weaknesses of differing approaches to healthcare systems.
- The ability to evaluate the quality and performance of healthcare systems and understand the various multi-agency approaches, along with their advantages and disadvantages.
How much is Tuition?
In the announcement via its socials, Victoria University says for a Masters Degree of Science in Public Health, students will pay Shs1.76m or $563, and this is payable in installments to give you the comfort of studying from anywhere, anytime.
The course is also available on both part-time and full-time study sessions to cater for all categories of persons.
