OMOROR, UGANDA: A total of six candidates have been duly nominated with satisfactory requirements to take part in the Omoro County MP by-election seeking to replace the late Speaker and Area MP Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.
The six candidates were confirmed in the two-day nomination exercise held on Thursday and Friday at the Electoral Commission offices in Omoro district.
Mr. Kagona Moses, the Omoro district returning officer in a Friday statement shortly after conclusion of the exercise that out of the 12 candidates who picked nomination forms, only six fulfilled all the requirements.
The six candidates duly nominated for Omoro by-election are;
- Onen Jimmy Walter (IND),
- Odonga Terence (IND),
- Tolit Simon Akecha (NUP),
- Kizza Oscar (ANT),
- Andrew Ojok Oulanyah (NRM), and
- Odong Justine (FDC)
The six candidates according to the EC Roadmap for the by-election will have 10 days to campaign and rally support across Omoro starting Monday, May 16 until Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The by-elections will take place on May 26, 2022.
