It’s about time we started buying Ugandan products

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Recently government, through the ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, held a Buy Uganda Build Uganda expo (BUBU Expo 2022) at Kololo ceremonial grounds.

The three-day expo ran from May 6 to 8, with President Museveni as chief guest on opening day. Away from the 370 exhibitors and the expo visitors that trouped in and out each day for workshops and to buy and seal Ugandan deals, the fashion was also predominantly BUBU.

From the minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Justine Kasule Lumumba to Trade ministry permanent secretary Geraldine Ssali, and presidential advisor Amelia Kyambadde, among others, Ugandan tailors and designers catered to the high and mighty on that weekend in a colourful affair.
