Police awaits autopsy after KCCA vet officer died driving car

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesman Kampala Metropolitan Police, says that Dr. Komugisha was found seated lifeless in his vehicle opposite the gate of Akamwesi Mall along Kampala-Gayaza road Sunday afternoon.

KAMPALA,UGANDA: Dr. Kamugisha Godfrey Mwesigwa, a Veterinary doctor attached to the Kampala Capital City Authority -KCCA farm in Kyanja has been found dead in his car.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesman Kampala Metropolitan Police, says that Dr. Komugisha was found seated lifeless in his vehicle opposite the gate of Akamwesi Mall along Kampala-Gayaza road Sunday afternoon.

“When our team responded, the deceased was found seated in his vehicle and his head rested on the steering wheel unresponsive,” he said in a brief statement.

He said officers from Kanyanya police station took the Kamugisha to Mulago National Referral Hospital where he was confirmed dead. Police took the deceased’s body to the city mortuary for post-mortem to establish the cause of death.
