Fire guts four dormitories at Bwera SS

KASESE, UGANDA: Property worth millions of shillings has been left burnt to ashes as fire gutted four dormitories at Bwera Senior Secondary School in Kasese district. According to reports, each dormitory was accommodating 30 students.

A source in the school that spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the incident but said there were no casualties as the students were attending preps when the fire broke out on Tuesday night.

The fire that started from two rooms destroyed student property including mattresses, clothes, books, shoes, and basins worth millions of Shillings.

One of the students identified as Edgar Bwambale says that the light in the dormitories went off and after a short while power returned and they instantly heard a blast followed by smoke.

Learners ran out of their classes but couldn’t make it to their dormitories to save properties because of the huge blaze.
