Details emerge on Ugandan MP who fainted in public during meeting

According to reports, the MP first experienced a sharp pain in the stomach before collapsing down unconsciously.

KAMPALA, UGANDA: Fresh details have emerged about Bugiri Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Agnes Taaka who fainted during a meeting in Makerere earlier this week.

Although it is not yet clear win which place exactly in Makerere the meeting was, it is reported that the MP first experienced a sharp pain in the stomach before collapsing down unconsciously.

“The Hon. left home in the early morning hours when she was well. She informed me that she was going to a meeting in Makerere. The next thing, I received a phone call that the Hon had fainted and was rushed to Nakasero Hospital,” a source close to the MP said confirming the incident.

The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Anita Among yesterday paid a visit to the MP at Nakasero hospital and called for prayers to the healing of the Hon and said her condition would soon stablize.

“This morning, I made time to visit our colleague and who is indisposed and currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital. Let’s continue to place all the sick under the Lord’s care so that he restores their health to continue serving Him.”

According to the Hon’s personal assistant, Mr. Francis Tinkasiimire, the MP was transferred to Mulago Hospital shortly after the Speaker’s visit but declined to comment on the illness his boss was suffering from and said the doctors were still investigating the problem.
